Nicoletta Cascelli, Antía Pintor and their supervisors Vicente Gotor-Fernández and Iván Lavandera were granted a Poster prize during the Biotech2023 conference

Nicoletta Cascelli (ESR7), Antía Pintor (ESR6) and their supervisors Vicente Gotor-Fernández and Iván Lavandera (University of Oviedo) were granted a poster prize in July during the Biotech2023 conference (in Madrid). 

While Nicoletta and Antía could not join in person, Iván presented the results of their collaboration. The poster regarded the biotransamination of furan derivatives (furfural, HMF and DFF) using isopropylamine as an easily accessible amine donor in aqueous media, it introduced system limitations due to the high reactivity of these derivatives, and provided simple solutions to improve the productivity of the reactions.

The XVIII Congress of the Spanish Society of Biotechnology, also called BIOTEC2023 was held in Madrid, at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Complutense University Matrid. It is part of the yearly conference organized by SEBiot National Biotechnology Congresses (BIOTEC) since 1986. These meetings provide an opportunity for researchers and professionals to share results and outcomes of research in the field of biotechnology.
