Iulia-Ioana Rădoi for INTERfaces at Trieste NEXT

Iulia-Ioana Rădoi (ESR) participated together with her supervisor Prof. Lucia Gardossi in the event Trieste NEXT 2020 „From waste to resource: circular bioeconomy for plastics and chemistry“, 25-27.09.20, Tieste, Italy. Trieste NEXT is an event where researchers present their experiences and tell how new solutions can arise. She introduced to the public her INTERfaces project, funded by the European Union´s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions grant agreement. In her project she aims to obtain advanced, efficient and reusable biocatalysts as, so far, we have lived up in a linear economy: after the end of its „life“, a product, it is thrown away because it has exhausted its function. Therefore, it is essential to find a new strategy to reduce the accumulation of waste and the consumption of fossil resources, which are running out quickly.
