Background
I studied the undergraduate program of Process Engineering, and then a MSc in Engineering, majoring in Bioprocesses at EAFIT University in Medellín, Colombia. Most of my previous academic and professional experiences have been oriented to the support, development and improvement of research and innovation projects, mainly those in which microorganisms and chemical tests are involved.
Hobbies/interest
I have a big interest in microorganisms and plants from different perspectives, from the essential oils to its pigments, nutritional and pharmaceutical properties. In my free time I really enjoy knitting or embroidering new patterns. I love to create jewelry with beads and sometimes with natural rare stones. I also like movies and going to restaurants or cooking at home and drinking tea.
What is the most useless talent you have?
I can purr like a kitten.
Where is the worst smelling place you have been?
When the bioreactor of 400L was contaminated in the production plant or when we dried microalgae from an old culture you could smell it from the lab entrance.
What ridiculous thing has someone tricked you into doing or believing?
I was with my family at the farm and my brother asked me to put up an electric wire to pass, he made me believe that it was unplugged, but it was re-connected to the power by my father some minutes before. And I just pulled up the wire with both hands to help him, but the electricity pushed me away and it made me fall in the grass with tears and laughter.
About which topics could you talk for hours?
Microalgae and other microorganisms, food, different kinds of tea and my life experiences.
